Virtual Annual Meeting 2022
Saturday, June 4, 2022 9:00 am to 12:15 pm
Keynote: The joy in climate justice: How we pray, learn, act, and advocate for God’s creation
Margaret’s Keynote talk : HERE
In a time of unprecedented social and ecological upheaval, people are fainting with “fear and foreboding” (Luke 21:25). Yet Jesus calls us to “stand up and raise [our] heads” (Luke 21:28), bearing witness in word and deed to God’s never-failing love, which embraces the whole creation. How does Christian faith inspire and sustain our efforts to tackle climate change? What are our next steps, as individuals, congregations, and dioceses, in responding to climate emergency? The presentation and discussion will provide an opportunity to reflect on these questions.
Available for purchase: Rooted and Rising: Voices of Courage in a Time of Climate Crisis (2019)
Business portion of the meeting will include elections and a proposed bylaw change. Please note: one vote per diocese.

Bylaw revision
The proposal is to remove the Church Periodical Club representative as an elected position.
Rationale:
The Church Periodical Club is a separate 501c3 organization. Province 1 ECW has been responsible for electing a Province 1 representative to the CPC but the reality is this has been primarily an appointment. It would be best to shift this appointment to CPC, an ECW “affiliated agency”, and have the person part of the Province 1 ECW Board like other affiliated agencies.
